Both Deceased Students Identified in Brown University Attack as Police Persist in Manhunt for Gunman.

Two students who were killed in Saturday’s tragic incident at Brown University were honored at the start of the week – while an intensive search for their shooter continued following the freeing by Rhode Island officials of the sole person of interest in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was described as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a ceremony on Sunday.

Cook was the vice-presidency of Brown’s branch of College Republicans of America, according to the organization. Karoline Leavitt also shared sympathies publicly, remarking: “Words cannot express. Remembering her loved ones and companions, particularly her mother and father.”

The other person killed was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, according to relatives.

Umurzokov’s identity was verified by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. His ambitions were lofty of becoming a neurosurgeon and aiding others,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a online post.

An additional nine individuals were wounded in the weekend shooting in the engineering department of Brown’s university in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Officials stated by the end of Sunday that a man aged 24 taken into custody in a police operation at a hotel about 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was set to be freed.
