According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a whistleblower provided information indicating Maxwell is working on the commutation application. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request are unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other inmates, she was provided directions about instructing her associates to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to digitize and send to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her former location.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most detainees are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that the official attend a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether he had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange her with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
