Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her final two events this season due to the illness she has been fighting in recent days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

Her upcoming training will include trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing far from freely in the final set versus Zhu due to back discomfort that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

She secured twenty-eight matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
