President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

The president stated he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump told reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Community members came together over the weekend at the high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist public safety in DC.

She conducted herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor told the gathering at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
